The Alimak Safety Device

If the rated speed is exceeded, the car/platform is stopped automatically and gently by a safety braking device. At the same time the power to the drive unit is cut off. It is easy to reset the safety device.

Automatic stops at top and bottom landing

At the top and bottom landings, cams activate limit switches which automatically stop the car. These functions are also backed up by a final limit switch with independent cams.
Below the bottom landing level, strong coil springs are fitted for extra safety, in the event of overrun at the ground level.

Safe car and landing doors

Electrical or electrical and mechanical door interlocks prevent the car/platform from moving unless all doors are securely closed and also prevent the doors from being opened during the ride.

Overload sensing system

With the overload sensing device, unsafe operation of the machine in an overload condition is prevented.

Safety hooks around the corners of the mast

The hooks eliminate the possibility of the car moving away from the mast
